About the Author: Professor Vladimir Gruden, MD, PhD, was born on June 21, 1939 in Osijek, Croatia and graduated from the School of Medicine at the University of Zagreb in 1963. He joined the Medical Faculty at the University of Zagreb to become a Professor of Medical Psychology. A specialist in psychotherapy, Professor Gruden helps people with medical conditions as well as those who are healthy. His courses in autogenic training for the general public, along with his lectures, media appearances, and over 15 popular books in his field are the best testament of his work's success in elevating the mental quality of life for a large number of people. Professor Gruden has enriched the medical profession, most notably in the field of psychotherapy. Scientific work and research by Professor Gruden can also be witnessed in the many congresses and other scientific gatherings he regularly participates within at home and abroad. He has mentored numerous graduation, masters and doctorate theses.
